Snot-catching drone helps diagnose whales

I really like this article that I watched at Reuters Video: Technology.

Drones and robotics is an expanding field of science, that has the potential of changing the way we interact specially if it can be combined with AI.

Scientists in Australia have found a unique way of discovering more about the health of whales – by using a drone to capture of all things, their snot. Ed Giles reports.

Latest Tech of this kind many times is considered as disconnected from real life use, but this is changing fast as more and more organization are concentrating on humancentric tech that is affordable and is suitable for solving real life everyday problems.

Especially if technologies such as this becomes more and more common, it will reduce costs, making tech more mainstream.

What I am more interested to find out is if this is a fad or does this actually have any potential for businesses to adopt. We have seen news stories where they Amazon, UPS and Fedex are experimenting with delivery drones. Somehow I do not think that it will prove to be viable purely due to noise pollution that is generated.

However using drones for surveys and scientific research is a very realistic scenario and we will see a lot of evolution in the capabilities of autonomous drones that can study the ocean floors, agricultural fields and other similar landscape.

Last but not the least, success of any product depends on the mass adoption, and until and unless small businesses don’t find inroads – the success of any product remains questionable.

It is intriguing how this [post_category] is evolving and impacting our lives.

I try to blog about [post_keyword] articles on my website, one for referencing back when you are writing something or researching, and two to share with everyone.
